In 2016 the Ulster Historical Foundation worked with the Bready and District Ulster-Scots Development Association in County Tyrone on the production of an educational booklet looking at the heritage of the Bready area. This was aimed at schoolchildren and focused in particular on the musical heritage of the district. It was produced to accompany the music and dance tuition classes that were being run by the local group with support from the Department of Education.

Classes in Highland dancing began in Bready in 2001. The group took the name Sollus School of Highland Dance after the name of the townland in which classes were held. (Sollus means ‘place of light’.) Since then the dance group has won hundreds of medals and trophies on the competition circuit in Ireland and Scotland. In 2011 the Sollus School of Highland Dance was the first Highland dance troupe from Ireland to take part in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
