Our Library is an excellent resource for anyone conducting genealogical and historical research. We have a wide range of books and journals on many aspects of the history of Ireland and in particular the province of Ulster.

Our collections are particularly strong on genealogical research guides, printed and published family histories, and church, parish and congregational histories. We also have extensive collections of gravestone inscriptions, both published and unpublished, and books on migration and the diaspora.

We have received a number of generous donations of books over the years and are always grateful to be gifted additional publications which we can make available to researchers.

Located at Kiltonga, Newtownards Co. Down, just 20 minutes from Belfast, the Research Library is open daily by appointment Monday to Friday (09:30-16:30). There is ample free parking onsite and free WiFi for visitors.

We enjoy welcoming local and overseas groups to our Library, so if you would like to visit us, please get in touch.
