The records for Royal Belfast Academical Institution (RBAI) survive from 1814. Pupils at this school came from a much wider area than simply the city of Belfast and it was the foremost educational establishment in Ulster in the early nineteenth century. The school ‘Albums’ list the names of pupils and with some details about their background and occasionally about their subsequent careers.
