This is a facsimile reprint of the original volume published in 1744. It was published at a time when a number of societies were formed in Ireland to encourage the study of the natural history of the island. This volume, by the antiquarian Walter Harris, followed on from a previous book by him which was titled A Topographical and Chorographical Survey of the County of Down (1740).
