Death
|
Nov. 9, of inflammation, at Ardagarvan, in the parish of Leckpatrick, co. Tyrone, Mr. Robert Porter, in the 105th year of his age. He was born near Castlefin, in Donegal, and lived the last 76 years of his life in the neighbourhood in which he breathed his last--30 in one house and 40 in another. His memory of the events of early life was very strong, and the melancholy death of Miss Knox, who was shot by her lover, when her father was aimed at, seemed to have taken a strong hold in his imagination. From that event he reckoned his age being then 14 years old.
