In 1901 Ardoyne Village, off the Crumlin Road in North Belfast, retained a unique identity despite becoming increasingly surrounded by the expanding city. Ardoyne was home to the world renowned Royal Damask Manufactory. Owned by the Andrews family, Ardoyne wove cloth for both the Royal Family (being awarded a Royal Warrant) and the Papacy. The firm was eventually taken over by John Shaw Brown and Sons Ltd in the latter years of the Nineteenth Century. Both Ardoyne village and the factory have long since disappeared. This is a complete list of all the inhabitants living in the village at the time of the 1901 census.
