As an accredited IFHF (Irish Family History Foundation) centre, Ulster Historical Foundation has compiled this database of birth, death and marriage records for Counties Antrim and Down as part of our commitment to broadening access to genealogical and historical data.
Our database of birth and baptism records contains:
- Virtually all Roman Catholic registers of baptisms for Counties Antrim and Down prior to 1900, and an increasing number of Catholic baptisms for 1900–1930
- A large number of Protestant (especially Church of Ireland) registers of baptisms for Counties Antrim and Down
- Civil birth records for much of Belfast
As an accredited IFHF (Irish Family History Foundation) centre, Ulster Historical Foundation has compiled this database of birth/baptism, marriage and death/burial records for Counties Antrim and Down as part of our commitment to broadening access to genealogical and historical data.
This database contains records entrusted to us by all major Christian religious denominations. As this information was given to us in good faith, Ulster Historical Foundation must insist that these records and this search mechanism are used for historical and genealogical purposes only. Please respect the wishes of the churches and the rights of those individuals, and their families, named in these records.
Note: Our database contains transcriptions of records, not digitised images. The copying of the registers began in the early 1990s and much had been completed prior to the rapid advances in digitisation of more recent times.
We’re always grateful when we hear from people who have corrections or additions to the material published. Please email us at enquiry@uhf.org.uk. Don’t expect any changes to be made quickly, though! We need to make sure that the corrections are right, and we don’t have a lot of spare capacity to do that.
With the co-operation of local churches, we are continuing to transcribe registers of baptisms, marriages and burials, and further records will be added to our website on a regular basis.
