Freda Bingley (née Waddell), a former member of the Foundation, was born in 1928 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, into a family with deep roots in Ulster. For more than a quarter of a century Freda conducted research into her Waddell antecedents with great persistence and enthusiasm. In 2014, the Foundation helped to publish her ‘personal odyssey’, as she called it, into the family, which appeared under the title The Waddells of Ireland: a Genealogical Resource. In 2011, Freda made a generous donation of a collection of her books to the Foundation’s library. Freda died in Oxfordshire on 10 November 2021 at the age of 93.
