FRIDAY FEATURE: Today I wanted to highlight some of the other services we offer through our website.

The Ulster Historical Foundation has been helping people find out more about their ancestors for almost 70 years. One of the ways we do this is through one-to-one consultations, either in-person at our offices in Newtownards, County Down or online via Zoom.

During the consultation we look at the information you already hold on your ancestors, search online resources and suggest the next best steps for you in your research. This is helpful if you are just starting out in your research or have hit a brick wall.

If you are planning to visit the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI), sitting down with one of our research team to create a work plan of what sources to look at while you are there, (with the relevant PRONI document reference numbers) can be an effective way to start a research trip.
