Each Friday we will be looking at a different feature of our new website and I want to start by focusing on one of my favourite sections - History from Headstones.

This FREE section contains a wealth of information including an interactive map showing the location of virtually every graveyard in the historic province of Ulster (colour-coded by denomination).

There are also a number of case-studies demonstrating how one can research the history of a graveyard as well as articles on various themes relating to graveyards.

These include: Gravestone symbolism, Gravestones associated with the 1798 Rebellion, Tombstones of the Ulster Plantation, Folklore in the Ordnance Survey Memoirs, Headstones and Causes of Death and The Jewish Community of Belfast and their places of burial.
