Between 2010 and 2014 the Ulster Historical Foundation organised annual summer schools with Ulster University (UU). Devised by Dr William Roulston of the Foundation and Dr Allan Blackstock of UU, the programme included a series of lectures at different venues in Belfast - including the Belfast campus of the University, Clifton House and Rosemary Street Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church as well as opportunities to carry out research at PRONI and other archives and libraries with the assistance of UHF staff and researchers.
We also organised excursions to other locations across Ulster, including the Ulster American Folk Park and Mellon Centre for Migration Studies, Barons Court, Sentry Hill, and the city of Derry. Our most successful summer school was in 2011 when we had the pleasure of welcoming a large contingent of members of the East Tennessee Historical Society. That summer school concluded with a memorable tour of Mid Antrim led by Dr Eull Dunlop.
