Working alongside Mark Thompson Design, the Foundation was involved in a project to provide interpretative services and elements for Loughgilly Parish Trust to support the planned renovation works at St Teresa’s Church, Tullyherron, County Armagh (a Grade B Listed Building).
Tullyherron has been a focus for Catholic worship in this part of Armagh for over two centuries. It was around 1813 that a barn was provided as a place of worship by a local farming family. Parts of that barn survive in the fabric of the present building. On 30 May 1869 the church was dedicated to St Teresa of Ávila.
The church stands in the centre of a well-maintained burial ground, dating from the early nineteenth century which continues to be the main place of burial for families connected with the church. The project involved developing content and designs for interior and exterior interpretative panels and an information leaflet.
