Title: Pupils at Campbell College, Belfast
Dates: 1894-1935
Description: This database of over 2,700 entries lists all the boys who entered this Belfast grammar school between its opening in 1894 and 1935. The level of detail in each entry is incredible, starting with their dates of birth and father's name and address and going on to give their further education and occupation and date of death. While many of the pupils came from the north of Ireland, others came from elsewhere on the island and from further afield. One of Campbell College's most famous pupils (albeit for only a term) was the writer C.S. Lewis (author of the Narnia series) who attended the school in 1910 before continuing his education in England.
