"In 1858 and 1873 two members of the Capper family of Lurgan, Co. Armagh, emigrated to Australia. They wrote home frequently and sixteen of their letters (from some sixty surviving and deposited in P.R.O.N.I., T.3658) are presented here.
They are mainly from Samuel and Malcolmson, two of John junior's brothers, but also include some from friends and relations of John Junior and one from Dr Phillips, who had been the Cappers' family doctor before he himself emigrated to Australia."
