"Henry Osborne (1803-1859) was born in Derrynaseer, a townland of the parish of Dromore, Co. Tyrone.
His emigration to Australia in 1828/9 and his subsequent success as a pioneer and entrepreneur in his adopted country have been well-documented; in this article I propose to draw on various contemporary sources in an effort to depict the parish of Dromore that young Osborne left to go on his great adventure."
