Notes on a "Long and Scattered Epistol" (1865) from David Megaw in Queensland to Rev. Alexander Kirkpatrick at the Craigs, Cullybackey, Co. Antrim

"At a time when there has been increased emphasis in Ulster schools on the critical use of 'sources', primary material which may readily be discussed in the classroom, there has also been growing interest, pending the Australian Bicentennial in 1988, in Ulster's contribution to life in the Antipodes.

It is appropriate, then, for more than one reason, to draw attention to the 'Australian' letter (1865) which is reproduced below."

'These Few Lines' looks at a letter from 1865 written in Australia and sent to Ireland, and examines what the letter can tell us about various aspects of history.
