Notable works by Tom McNeill

Tom McNeill studied Modern History at Oxford and was awarded a PhD on Anglo-Norman Ulster at Queen’s University Belfast. He was appointed Lecturer in Archaeology at Queen’s in 1973, later advanced to Senior Lecturer in Medieval Archaeology, remaining there until retirement in 2009. As well as his main interest in castles and churches of medieval Europe and the British Isles (particularly Ireland), he also became interested in the way the early Protestants used their places of worship to express different religious views and ritual, which led to a book, The First 150 Years of Protestant Church Building (2017).
